Conveyor Safety Upgrade

Client: GM3 Mining | Location: Dendrobium Coal Preparation Plant, Port Kembla

Bright Group Electrical was engaged to deliver a critical safety upgrade to 13 of the conveyor pullcord systems at GM3’s Dendrobium Coal Preparation Plant after the existing equipment was found to be outdated and in need of an upgrade.

The work involved removing the outdated lanyards and installing a new Ringline Safe-T-Pull system, complete with trip switches, pre-start alarms, stop buttons, and new trip wire lanyards along each conveyor belt.

This upgrade provided the site with a modern, fully compliant safety system designed to ensure reliable operation and protect site personnel.

"Bright Group Electrical did a great job on the conveyor safety upgrade at Dendrobium. They were flexible in adapting to changes in scope, communicated well throughout, and followed site and safety procedures as required. The work was completed to a high standard, and we were very happy with the outcome."

Coal Fines Thickener Replacement

Client: GM3 | Location: Wollongong, NSW

Bright Group Electrical was engaged to support the replacement of an ageing Coal Fines Thickener at a major industrial site in Wollongong. The project involved decommissioning the existing thickener and delivering the electrical infrastructure needed to bring the new system online. From day one, our focus was on smart planning and seamless integration.

The job came with logistical challenges, access, staging, and commissioning all required a methodical approach. Our team worked closely with the site engineers to keep everything moving, hitting key milestones ahead of schedule and supporting a smooth commissioning process.

“The project was complex in its logistics and was executed by Bright Group seamlessly, allowing the project to be completed ahead of time and with a high degree of quality.
